Things You Should Know
Where’s my class?
 
Most classes are held in Battle Ground School District buildings and grounds. The course listing shows the location of most classes. When registering online specific directions are readily available for your class location by clicking on the location site and will also appear on your receipt when printed. Please ask for directions when registering in person.
 
How do I sign up?
The easiest way to sign up is Online at http://www.bgsd.k12.wa.us/cmd then click the sign in link, browse courses and add your choices to your shopping cart.
 
  • Or Phone-in with VISA or MasterCard at (360) 885-6584, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
 
  • Or Mail,PO Box 200, Battle Ground WA 98604-0200 or Fax (360) 885-6597 a completed registration form with a check (by mail only) or VISA,MasterCard information.
 
  • You can also Walk-in to the Community Education office at 104 West Main Street, Battle Ground, WA, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. A Drop box is available 24/7 to the left of the Community Education office front doors for registration and payment by check or credit card during off hours.
 
What happens in case of inclement weather?
If Battle Ground School District closes schools or students are released early due to severe weather, all enrichment and recreation classes will be canceled. If school has not been canceled all activities will go on as scheduled.
 
Tigerland Preschool
If a Battle Ground School District late start, due to weather conditions,  is announced, morning Tigerland preschool will be canceled and rescheduled. Afternoon Tigerland preschool will be held at the regularly scheduled time.
 
If a Battle Ground School District early release, due to weather conditions, is announced, afternoon Tigerland preschool will get out early or be canceled depending on the decision time and ALL afternoon and evening activities will be canceled.
 
Weekend Events and Classes
If inclement weather happens on a weekend when Battle Ground Community Education activities are scheduled call (360)885-6584, the message will be changed to reflect the cancellation.
    • If it is a game or tournament -
      • All game supervisors, coaches and referees will be called.
      • It is the responsibility of the coaches to call their players.
      • Within two weeks coaches will be notified of the rescheduled games and it will be the coaches’ responsibility to inform their players.
    • If it is a class -           
      • The instructor and students will be called
      • You will be notified of the reschedule as soon as possible.
 
Course instructors will reschedule missed classes due to inclement weather.
 
Course Cancellation Policy
Battle Ground Community Education is student supported by course fees; therefore we must establish a minimum enrollment and cancel courses that do not reach that minimum. That decision is always determined at least 48 hours before class is scheduled to start.
 
In the event your class is cancelled, our department will make every effort to contact you. Be sure that your contact information with daytime phone numbers is complete and up to date on your registration/student profile.
 
If your course is cancelled by our department you may transfer to another course or request a full refund of course fees. Course fee refunds due to class cancellation take approximately three to four weeks to process and are issued by credit card or check based on the same manner in which the course fee was paid.
 
Refund Policy
Because instructor salaries are paid by the fees collected and because students are denied enrollment when the class maximum is met, we must limit our refund policy. A refund will only be issued if received in writing 7 working days prior to the beginning of class, camp or recreation program. All customer initiated refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee.
 
Refunds based on special circumstances must be requested in writing and will be considered but not guaranteed. All customer initiated refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee.
 
Summer Academy Refund Policy: A refund will only be issued if received in writing 14 days prior to the beginning of Summer Academy. All customer initiated refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee. NO refunds or Credit vouchers will be considered  under 13 days prior to the start of Summer Academy.
